International Alert

Salary: £37,901 per annum, plus excellent benefits
Based: London, UK
Contract: 9–12 months starting end of February 2019
Closing date: 6 January 2019

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and creative digital expert to join us to shape and guide our digital engagement as we launch a new organisational strategy with a strong focus on outreach and influencing.

With a proven ability to engage a broad range of audiences through high-quality digital content delivered across a variety of digital platforms, you will take a strategic approach to delivering digital campaigns that share our information, resources and advocacy messages to the right audiences.

As a confident planner and experienced content creator, you will ensure our increased outreach to identified audiences to boost awareness of our work and the peacebuilding sector, while also remaining sensitive to the risks posed within our work to prevent conflict.

A planner and a doer, you have the ability to create and deliver content for our social media channels, website and email lists and to think about long-term engagement and content plans. You will have a knowledge of SEO, digital marketing and website management, able to implement your knowledge and work with agencies where required to deliver projects, including briefing web developers.

In return, you will have the opportunity to work for an innovative charity with amazing stories to tell, as well as use your talents, skills and experience to drive forward our digital engagement and share inspiring stories of the people we work with.

Experience of working in an international organisation would be a distinct advantage.

While International Alert will endeavour to contact all candidates within a reasonable time, this may not always be possible due to limited resources.  Therefore, if you have not heard from us within two weeks of the closing date, you can assume that your application has, on this occasion, been unsuccessful. International Alert is an equal opportunities employer. All applicants will be judged strictly on the basis of merit.

International Alert helps people find peaceful solutions to conflict.

We are one of the world’s leading peacebuilding organisations, with 30 years of experience laying the foundations for peace.

We work with local people around the world to help them build peace. And we advise governments, organisations and companies on how to support peace.

We focus on issues which influence peace, including governance, economics, gender relations, social development, climate change, and the role of businesses and international organisations in high-risk places.
