Job Description:
Based in the UK – One year renewable full-time contract with 3-month probationary period.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Evaluation Specialist to undertake baseline assessments, impact assessments, and evaluations in fragile and conflict affected settings. You will be based in the UK, working remotely. Significant international travel will be required, COVID-19 restrictions permitting.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Research design
- Lead primary data collection
- Qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Contribute to writing research reports on topics including conflict, gender, environmental peacebuilding, disability inclusion and youth
- Engage with, and adapt, new research practices and approaches, and participatory research tools and methods applied in humanitarian and development research
- Support identification of tenders and development of proposals
- Help to build Bodhi’s network and disseminate research findings
- Write topical commentaries and blog posts on various development and humanitarian issues, as well as on monitoring and evaluation practices in the sector
- Build positive working relationships with external stakeholders, including potential partner organisations, senior members of academic institutions, and local CSOs, where necessary.
Person Specification
Qualification and experience:
- PhD or Masters degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, or a related discipline
- Thematic interest and experience in conflict, climate change, food security, governance, economic development, disability inclusion, and/or youth and gender
- At least 7 years’ experience working in M&E for an international organisation or NGO
- Proven experience of managing M&E projects, preferably in fragile and conflict affected settings
- Experience in data collection through technology (e.g. KoBo Toolbox)
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis software e.g. NVivo and SPSS
- Fluency in English, fluency in French and/or Arabic desirable
- Ability to cope well under pressure, and to occasionally work irregular hours to meet tight deadlines

- Attention to detail: A commitment to high quality deliverables and reports, meticulous in approach to research and report writing.

- Organisation: Must have a systematic approach to work, with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently, meeting deadlines under pressure

- Communication: Ability to communicate (verbal and written) confidently in English and to adapt to different audiences and cultural contexts
