On July 29th 2021, at 10am EDT, Dr. Clem McCartney, Melanie Hussak, and Dr. Ran Kuttner, members of the Next Generation Shared Societies Theory & Practice network, will lead our M&E Thursday Talk discussion on “Shared Societies as a Framework for Project Planning and Monitoring”
First articulated 15 years ago as a vision and template for an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable society, the Concept of Shared Societies has since developed into an analytical tool which is valuable in many different contexts. This evolution of the concept resulted from the creation of a detailed and comprehensive complication of the characteristics of a Shared Society and the requirements needed to achieve it.
In this discussion, our hosts will introduce the key elements of the Concept of Shared Societies, exploring how this holistic and comprehensive concept encourages analysis of the impact of interventions in one policy area across others – with the ultimate goal of diminishing unintended consequences on other dimensions of society. We will discuss how this concept can be a valuable tool used in multiple contexts, such as when implementing critical social analysis, designing peace agreements, developing peacebuilding programs, and much more.
Our hosts will also move from theory to practice, sharing how you too can use this concept as a practical development tool in your own work.
