Join DME for Peace on Thursday, May 16th at 10am EDT, as Ann Hendrix-Jenkins, Sr. Advisor at The Movement for Community-led Development, joins the M&E Thursday Talks to lead a discussion on “The Transformative Potential of Community-led Development.”
The Movement for Community-led Development is made up of 57 member organizations, who are working to scale up Community-led Development (CLD) to a transformative, national scale around the world. To make this happen, they are assembling a rigorous and evolving evidence base on CLD.
Ann will discuss this goal, and how they have found that methods and tools designed to evaluate short-term, sector-specific, or clinical interventions are not a good fit for examining evidence about CLD. Ann will also go into detail about the six characteristics of community-led development that they believe current monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) tools are not designed to consider.
Ann will then expand upon the emerging MEL ideas around framing, methodologies, and tools that aim to generate practical CLD knowledge and guidance. Participants are encouraged to contribute to the discussion and share their firsthand experiences.
