The Alliance for Peacebuilding

The Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) is a global membership association of more than seventy peacebuilding organizations, 1,000 professionals, and a network of more than 15,000 people developing processes for change in the most complex, chaotic conflict environments around the world. AfP amplifies the strengths of its members and works collaboratively on issues that are too large for any one organization to tackle by itself. AfP engages a multitude of actors, including government, academia, and nongovernmental organizations.

Search for Common Ground

Search for Common Ground is a conflict prevention NGO that works to transform the way the world deals with conflict – away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative problem solving. We work with local partners to find culturally appropriate means to strengthen societies’ capacity to deal with conflicts constructively: to understand the differences and act on the commonalities. We currently work in over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East and the United States. Search for Common Ground through DME for Peace is hosting the Network for Peacebuilding Evaluation Community of Practice.

Peacebuilding Evaluation Consortium

The Network for Peacebuilding Evaluation is a core part of the Peacebuilding Evaluation Consortium (PEC). The Consortium’s core partners, Search for Common Ground, Alliance for Peacebuilding, Mercy Corps, CDA Collaborative Learning, and the United States Institute of Peace are focused on field-wide change by developing methodological rigor in peacebuilding evaluation, promoting shared learning and transparency, and encouraging the use of evidence to inform policy.

Made possible with support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Consortium aims to expand the current understanding of evaluation practices in the peacebuilding community, build bridges between academics and practitioners such that the work of both are augmented by the other, engage policy-makers on the policies that relate to programs in conflict-affected settings, and disseminate innovative information.
