Description: This manual aims to: 1) Document and disseminate the lessons learned from the IPPF/WHR regional initiative; 2) Provide managers in developing countries with tools to improve the health care response to violence against women; and 3) Identify the ongoing challenges and debates about how the health sector should address the problem of gender based violence (GBV) in developing country settings.  It is intended to assist health care managers, private organizations and NGOs, expats working abroad, and health care professionals working specifically with adolescents and women.  The manual provides an explanation of the GBV problem, how and why the health sector should combat it, and specialized services that can be provided to victims.
