This review of evidence gathered from formal evaluations of reconciliation programs was part of a larger effort undertaken by CDA in partnership with the Peacebuilding Evaluation Consortium (PEC). One of PEC’s pillars focused on fostering the use of evidence to inform and improve peacebuilding policy and programming. Specifically, PEC members sought to:
- understand what evidence exists on what is effective peacebuilding programming;
- increase the evidence base and synthesize the documented results of peacebuilding programs;
- support evidence-based policy and practice and inform decision-making in the design, implementation and evaluation phases.
